The methodology

Teachers will learn in small groups of 2-5 colleagues, meeting once a week for 4 weeks. Sessions are 1.5 hours and can be in-person or online.

Course syllabus

Session 1: Identifying Core Challenges in Classroom Management

  • Reflect on and articulate personal classroom management challenges
  • Recognize common patterns and root causes of disruptive behaviors
  • Set a focus area for testing a new classroom management strategy

Session 2: Analyzing Practice and Strategy Selection

  • Observe and analyze classroom videos or scenarios using a structured lens
  • Provide and receive constructive feedback on observed strategies
  • Select and plan the implementation of a new management technique

Session 3: Strategy Implementation and Peer Coaching

  • Share results and reflections from applying a new strategy in your own classroom
  • Participate in peer coaching to refine approaches and address persistent issues
  • Contribute insights to a collective resource bank of tested strategies

Session 4: Building a Sustainable Management Toolkit

  • Review and synthesize strategies that have proven effective during the course
  • Develop a personal classroom management action plan
  • Finalize and organize the group’s shared resource bank for future use
