The methodology

Teachers will learn in small groups of 2-5 colleagues, meeting once a week for 5 weeks. Sessions are 1.5 hours and can be in-person or online.

Course syllabus

Session 1: Rethinking Productivity with AI

  • The new landscape of educator workloads
  • What AI can and can’t do (yet)
  • Introduction to task mapping: What takes your time? What drains your energy?

Session 2: Tool Matchmaking (Pairing Tasks with Tech)

  • Framework: Input Type × Output Type
  • Categories of tools (text generation, media creation, data analysis, automation, etc.)
  • Hands-on:五 tasks you do weekly with ideal AI tools

Session 3: Designing Your Personal AI Toolkit

  • Curating vs hoarding tools
  • “Minimum Viable Stack” for teachers vs administrators
  • Setting up your toolkit (including browser extensions, cloud tools, etc.)

Session 4: AI Scope and Sequence for Professional Growth

  • Moving from beginner to advanced AI usage
  • Setting your own AI learning trajectory
  • How to stay current without getting overwhelmed

Session 5: Building Better Systems, Not Just Faster Tasks

  • Automating repetitive tasks without losing your touch
  • Integrating AI into lesson planning, IEPs, communication, and PD
  • Avoiding pitfalls (misuse, dependency, misinformation)

With a master’s from Stanford and over a decade in public education, she brings a deep commitment to equity, innovation, and practical support for teachers. Through her ventures Edumated and BetterAAC, Megan helps educators use AI to save time, boost outcomes, and support student communication.

You will join a group of 2 to 5 colleagues, and as a group, you will meet 4 times, either in person or online, at a time you all agree on.
