About the course

What is the purpose of assessment? How to assess in the ChatGPT era? In this course, teachers will share with their colleagues around these and other questions, deepening their knowledge about assessment in educational contexts. Together they will analyze course descriptions, developing equitable and effective assessment situations and tools, leveraging artificial intelligence.

How it works

You will join a group of 2 to 5 colleagues, and as a group, you will meet 4 times, either in person or online, at a time you all agree on.

Course syllabus

Session 1: Purpose of assessment

  • Understand the purpose of assessment with a focus on continuous improvement of teaching and learning

Session 2: Assessment situations and instruments

  • Adapt assessment situations and instruments, differentiating according to who evaluates and for what purpose

Session 3: Design of assessment situations

  • Design assessment instruments using technology and artificial intelligence when necessary, and applying the Universal Design for Learning approach

Session 4: Design of assessment instruments

  • Create assessments that prevent misuse of AI and promote creative use of it, according to expected learning outcomes

Cinthia Peña

Master in Education with a mention in Educational Assessment from PUCV and Final Teaching Practice Tutor. Her areas of specialization include initial teacher training, mentoring, and educational assessment. Her research focuses on teacher accompaniment and professional development, with particular emphasis on promoting historical thinking and good classroom practices.
