Overview

Circles sets community standards so everyone on the platform feels safe and comfortable. Members who join a study group (a "Circle") agree to follow these guidelines and to report any violations they observe.

Be yourself (literally)

Use your real name on your profile. We only allow pseudonyms in narrow cases, such as artistic creators who use a professional name or people who need to protect their personal safety. Each person should have a single account, and each account represents an individual.

Behavior that's not OK

Harassing people

We don't allow harassment, lewd propositions, extreme insults, mockery of tragedy victims, doxxing, or sharing other people's private information.

Hateful or discriminatory speech or conduct

Do not incite hatred toward others or discriminate against them based on race, religion, national origin, caste, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability.

Threats of violence

Do not threaten violence, glorify it, or encourage it against any individual or group.

Trolling or disrupting the stage

Do not deliberately disrupt sessions through abusive statements, noise, or other forms of sabotage.

Content that's not OK

Child endangerment

This is absolutely prohibited. We do not allow the sexualization, solicitation, or endangerment of minors, or sharing inappropriate content with them.

Graphic violence

We do not allow content with excessive gore, harm to animals, or media depicting extreme violence.

Harmful misinformation and disinformation

We do not allow health misinformation, election interference, or manipulated media intended to cause harm.

Illegal activities

We do not allow illegal content, unauthorized activities, or the sale of regulated goods.

Intellectual property violations

We do not allow content that violates other people's intellectual property rights.

Sexual exploitation

We do not allow non-consensual sexual imagery or the sexualization of minors.

Suicide and self-harm

We do not allow content that encourages suicide or self-harm. If you or someone you know needs support, visit www.findahelpline.com.

Terrorism or violent extremism

We do not allow the promotion of terrorism or proscribed terrorist groups.

Nudity

We do not allow nudity or pornographic imagery.

Other things that just kinda suck

False reporting

Mass false reports can lead to account suspension.

Selling Circles features and growth

Do not sell access, reach, or engagement within the platform.

Threats to Circles

Do not threaten the Circles team, its staff, or the security of the app, and do not contact team members in unwanted ways.

Spam or scams

We don't allow unsolicited messages, scam tactics, or financial schemes.

Issues not addressed here
